We have had a fabulous final few weeks of Term here at Rangeview! We had our Whole School Photo day with School Pix, four Hawthorn players came to visit and speak to our students, a group of student leaders attended the Dream and Lead Conference and others attended the Aspiring Leaders Conference, our Level 1 Little Learners had their Play all Day Party, members of the Level 6 teaching team attended Learning Walks at Vermont Secondary College to view firsthand what is expected of secondary students, our teachers were released in teams for planning week to prepare and plan our curriculum for Term 2, our Marrung Leads together with students attended the opening of the Indigenous Nature Trail at Antonio Park Primary School, our students learnt about cyber safety as a part of eSmart Week, our staff had a Thank-You Breakfast courtesy of the Leadership Team, and our Whole School participated in the Cross Country!
On Monday 31st our whole school came together to participate in the Cross Country. Our levels ran laps of the school competing for their House and every participant counted towards the winning House for the day. It was wonderful to see the Level 6 students supporting our littlest runners on the day and then in turn, the Foundation students lined the track to cheer on their buddies.
A huge thank you to Mitch Clark and Meg Hubbard for organising the running of the event, and to all of the staff for putting in their all to support the students to participate in any way they could. Congratulations to Terra House for taking out the day! Go Terra!
On Wednesday 26th our Level 1 students celebrated their literacy learning with a Play All Day Beach Party - here at school. Dressed in their beach finest they participated in games and outdoor activities for all of the morning culminating in a run under the oval sprinklers. Thank you to our Level 1 team for running this wonderful day for our students.
On Tuesday 25th we had four AFT players from the Hawthorn Football Club come to visit our students and offer some advice around sportsmanship and perseverance.
A huge thank you to Jarman Impey, Cody Anderson, Jack Scrimshaw, and Lloyd Meek for giving us some of their time and making the day of so many students (and some staff).
Families may be aware that a change to Government School uniform for next year was in the media this week. The change involves the requirement for schools to allow non-branded clothing items for shorts, skirts and track pants and is designed to assist families with the cost of living.
Rangeview has allowed non-branded 'bottoms' for some time, and we support this move.
We always end the term here at Rangeview with a Thank You Breakfast for the staff - provided by the Leadership Team. The staff today enjoyed a hot breakfast and Leadership would like to thank Mr Le for cooking up a storm to assist!
Thank you to all of our families for supporting the school events this term. We have a host of adventures to come in Term 2 - including;
We wish all of our families a safe and restful holiday period and we look forward to seeing you all back at school on Tuesday 22nd April.
