P&C Update
Mrs Erin Williams - P&C President
Another wet week ends this very wet term. Hope you haven’t been impacted too badly by the weather.
Our P&C AGM last week was well attended, but we are still looking to fill two roles – Treasurer and Secretary. The roles are being temporarily filled by last year’s executives, but they are both Year 12 parents and would love someone to step into their shoes asap.
Both roles require attendance at meetings, and some keeping up with our P&C bookkeeper and correspondence via email. But the time requirement is quite reasonable. I run two businesses and have very busy teenage children and am able to fulfil my duties as well. I would love to talk with anyone who is interested in coming on board.
Our PoPArts volunteers were performing at top level last Friday at the Term 1 TULA night of music. Incredible musical talent on show, and our bar and food were just as popular. I am overjoyed to see everyone who comes along being able to relax, have a drink, something yummy to eat and be able to comfortably watch the immense talent The Gap State High School musical performers display in every ensemble. Congratulations to all the teachers who give up their free time to put on a show worthy of the highest praise.
Remember our Year 12 gathering is this Friday night from 6pm to 8pm – catch up and share how the students are doing in their last months of school.
Next term we have a couple of exciting events in the first two weeks – Mother’s Day breakfast (tickets here) and Experience Day, where everyone is welcome to have a tour of the school, see and talk to lots of teachers, deputies, specialist program teams, taste tuckshop fare and see student performances. Come along on 1 May from 3.30pm and see what your students are experiencing!
Our next P&C Meeting is Monday 12th May at 7pm in the library.
I hope you all have a happy holidays and look forward to seeing you next term!
