Principal's Report

 - Tania Sorbello

Welcome Back to Term 2

We hope you had a chance to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones over the term break. We’re excited for the wonderful learning opportunities ahead in Term 2!

It’s going to be a busy and exciting term, with many special events on the calendar. Highlights include our Whole School Cross Country, District Cross Country, the Grade 5 and 6 camp at The Summit, and our Little Long Walk to mark the end of Reconciliation Week and the FNPS COLOUR RUN — just to name a few. Make sure you head to the Community Engagement Page of this newsletter for more information relating to the Colour Run!

To help you keep track of everything, we’ve put together a handy ‘for the fridge’ calendar, attached on the first page of the newsletter. All dates are correct as of today; we’ll be sure to let you know of any changes or additions as they arise.

Here’s to a fantastic Term 2!

Around the School

Over the holidays we had some additional works. Utilising funds raised by our wonderful community, the STEM Room has had an update and is looking fantastic. In the coming weeks, the new furniture and other resources will arrive and the STEM Room transformation will be complete!

As you know, our Junior Playground is edging nearer to completion. Upon receiving a $25K grant, we are now incorporating a shade sail over the sensory learning area. The updated date of completion is now mid-May and we can’t wait to see our students out and about in this area.

The formwork and concreting are complete on the VSBA ramp upgrade. The handrails are currently being fabricated and we anticipate this project being finished prior to the original Term 3 completion date.

2026 Year 7 Enrolments

Last week, the enrolment process for students transitioning from Year 6 – 7 began for students enrolling in Victorian Government Secondary Schools in 2025. This included the distribution of a Placement Information Pack, along with a Year 7 Transition Factsheet.

The factsheet can be found here.

If you have any questions regarding the enrolment or transition process, please reach out to your classroom teacher or the front office.

2026 Prep Enrolments

Do you or someone you know have a child starting school in 2026? We are now accepting enrolments for next year, with school tours being held fortnightly on Tuesday mornings at 9:30am.

Additionally, prospective families are invited to join us on Wednesday 21st May, 2025 at 6:00pm for our Prep 2026 Information Evening. The evening will provide families with information about our school, our curriculum, our community and the 2026 enrolment process.
