LEARNING FOCUS
The term has commenced smoothly, with students quickly settling into their learning routines. Our teaching teams have identified their key focus areas for Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), with an emphasis on delivering engaging and effective lessons through the explicit use of our Teaching and Learning model.
COLLEGE VALUES: RESPECT, RESILIENCE, RESPONSIBILITY
As a college community, we continue to embed our core values—Respect, Resilience and Responsibility—into everyday school life. This term, our focus is on Resilience. Resilience is the capacity to adjust and grow through life’s challenges. At Lyndale, we see failure not as a setback, but as a valuable opportunity for learning. At Lyndale we build resilience by:
We model resilience when we persist, reflect, and try again, and we support one another to do the same.
ATTENDANCE
Regular school attendance is vital for academic success and social development. Students who attend consistently are more likely to complete Year 12, access better career opportunities, and enjoy improved health outcomes. We encourage all families to make attendance a priority. If you need support in maintaining your child’s school attendance, please contact their Year Level Coordinator.
HOMEWORK AND SUBMISSION
A consistent home study routine is essential to student success. Students should use their time at home to review classwork, address areas for improvement, and meet assignment deadlines. We encourage families to support students in checking their Compass Learning Tasks regularly and reading teacher feedback to stay up to date.
2024 ANNUAL REPORT
The 2024 Annual Report has been endorsed by College Council. Once it receives Department of Education approval, it will be made available on our website. We are proud to report that Lyndale has again achieved strong results compared to the state and similar schools, reflecting the hard work of our staff and students.
NAPLAN
Students and families will soon receive individual NAPLAN results, offering insight into their progress in Literacy and Numeracy. Preliminary data from the 2025 Year 9 assessments shows strong growth in both areas, marking the continued impact of our whole-school commitment to learning growth and evidence-based teaching practices.

➗ Numeracy
These achievements are the result of the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families. They highlight what’s possible when we uphold our values:Respect – Valuing each learner’s journeyResponsibility – Taking ownership of learningResilience – Using feedback to grow through challenges
We are incredibly proud of our students' efforts and will use this data to further refine our support and extension strategies as we plan for Semester 2. Additional data on Writing, Spelling, and Grammar & Punctuation will be shared when available.
ATTITUDES TO SCHOOL SURVEY (AToSS)
Students have now taken part in the Department of Education’s Attitudes to School Survey. The survey helps us understand students’ perceptions of their learning environment and school experience. Results are anonymous and support staff in identifying both strengths and areas for improvement.
Students were encouraged to approach the survey with a broad perspective, reflecting on their general experiences rather than individual teachers or incidents. Staff have already been using last year’s data to guide improvements, and we look forward to gaining further insight from this year’s responses.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a term filled with curiosity, challenge, and meaningful learning growth for all students.
