Level 3

It’s hard to believe the end of term is already approaching! It’s been a busy and eventful term for the Year 3s, with lots of exciting activities and learning experiences along the way.

Harmony Day

On Monday, the 24th, HEPS came together to celebrate the rich diversity and cultures within our community for Harmony Day. The students were excited during our Monday morning assembly, where they were treated to a performance by an Indigenous artist playing the didgeridoo. They enjoyed discovering various cultural traditions and celebrations from across the globe and had a great time working with their younger buddy grade 1MY.

Literacy

In Literacy, we’ve been focusing on persuasive writing. We have been looking at how we can use the structure and persuasive techniques to make our writing more convincing and effective. We are excited to publish these pieces by typing them up on a computer!

Maths

Lately we have been working on addition/subtraction and different strategies we can use to solve subtraction problems. We have also been focusing on our problem solving skills, and looking closely at a range of multi-step worded problems to decipher what the question is asking.

Inquiry

We have been learning about the contact between Europeans and the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people. We have been learning about what those interactions were like, as well as what life was like for both the Europeans and Indigenous people before the Europeans came to Australia. We have been finalising our projects on these and they are looking fantastic!

Tennis

We have had so much fun at the tennis clinic with Ben from HE Parker!

Reminder: Friday, 4th April - Mad (Make a Difference) Day! Students are encouraged to wear a wacky outfit or sport wacky hair in exchange for a gold coin donation. Dismissal will be at 2:30pm.
