Foundation

What an amazing first term at school our Foundation students have had! There has been an incredible amount of learning and growth already, and it's been fantastic to see all of our Foundation students thriving in school.
Bayswater Train Park
This week the Foundation students walked down to the Bayswater Train Park to celebrate our first term at school, as well as part of our 'Belonging' unit of work. It was a beautiful morning walking there and back and spending so much time on the wonderful equipment. There was plenty of big smiles and laughter. Thank you very much to all the people who came along to help us, it was very much appreciated!
Harmony Day
On Monday 25th March we celebrated all the different cultures and diverse backgrounds of the students at HEPS. As part of this day we worked with our Grade 6 buddies to create different crafts related to different cultures. The Foundation students love working with their buddies.
Literacy
In Literacy, we have been continuing our work on different sounds, letter formation and sounding out and blending CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words. The Foundation students are becoming experts at this already!
Maths
In Maths we have been looking at data and number formation through games, hands-on activities and concrete learning materials such as blocks, unifex cubes, matchsticks and playdough.
The Foundation team would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter and we hope that everyone has a fantastic break.
