A call to action from SKiPPA

Enough, is enough! SKiPPS need a covered indoor space where we can hold assemblies, concerts or sporting events when the weather is bad.
Hi families and carers, SKiPPA have a special request and we're really hoping to have as much support as possible from our school community.
Last week's Harmony day celebration was a wash out... while we did our best to recover and a great time was had, behind the scenes the cancelled activities, performances/assembly did cause some disappointment.
And to top it all off the quadrangle yet again needs repair work. Our school buildings need constant repair and maintenance.
We've adapted, our students and staff have been resilient, and our amazing school and community spirit continues to shine through. But it is taking a toll. There is only so much maintenance you can do on a building that is old, no longer fit for purpose and needs a proper rebuild.
With State elections approaching, we want to push for proper funding to rebuild our infrastructure. It is not good enough that we don't have a covered indoor space where we can hold assemblies, concerts or sporting events when the weather is bad.
Our votes are important! We know from other schools in the area, that we need a strong parent push to receive the significant government funding for renovations and new build.
Separately, our Buildings and Grounds Committee are meeting with an Architect to put together a Master Plan of what we need and School Council are pushing to speed up the current ongoing maintenance works but SKiPPA wants to start making some noise and bringing the issues to the attention of leaders and media. We need as much help as we can get!
We need your help with a plan! Help can be in many different forms and we are fortunate to have a diverse community with many different skills (maybe you have experience in something like this before, you could be a wordsmith and can help with email templates or you might just be great at rolling up your sleeves and making noise!) if you think you could help us with a plan then please join us for the kick off meeting.
We're also looking for someone to lead this group- if you think this could be you, please come! If you can't make the meeting but want to be involved join the group link below.
