Staff Professional Learning

Curriculum Day

Whilst our students were at home catching up on some classwork, revision or perhaps taking a mid-term break, our teachers were busy working with Bronwyn Ryrie-Jones to develop their awareness and skills in adaptive teaching practices. Understanding more about how our brains work to process and hold information is key to informing how we teach and how our students learn in the classroom.

Adaptive teaching practice centres on understanding the various cognitive loads within a cohort of students and tailoring activities that combine explicit teaching with tracking students' progress and responding accordingly to ensure understanding and progress.

A well-planned day provided a wealth of information and practical ideas for our staff to implement into the success and benefit for our students in the classrooms!
