Year 11 & VCE+VM

Work Related Skills

Our Year 11 VCE VM Work Related Skills classes have had a high-octane start to the term, revving up their learning with an unforgettable trip to the Melbourne Grand Prix on Thursday the 13th of March!

As part of the Work-Related Skills curriculum, students had the opportunity to experience firsthand the fast-paced world of motorsport, exploring the wide range of careers involved in running such a complex event. From hospitality to event management and media, the Grand Prix showcased the many pathways available in the workforce. To discover how employees came into these jobs and understand their career paths to potentially guide their own, students engaged with industry professionals by bravely undertaking interviews at Albert Park. This was a fantastic opportunity to connect and apply our classroom learning over Term 1 to the real world!

During the day, students were able to participate in pop-up events at the track, with some of our lucky Year 11s testing their abilities in the F1 simulators! On track, the energy was electric, with many students agreeing it was thrilling to watch the action up close with the F2 cars & Supercars racing throughout the day.

It’s safe to say that our Year 11s have hit top gear in Term 1! We hope to continue to accelerate their learning through hands-on experiences that bring the workplace to life.
