Year 2 Newsletter
Term 1 Week 2 2026 - Friday 6th February
What have we been up to?
We are excited to welcome you and your child to the new school year at Le Page Primary School! It’s been a great start, and we have been busy getting our classroom ready for an exciting year of learning and growth. We are so proud of the courage and leadership that each student has shown already, what a great year 2026 will be!
Leader in Me Lessons
During our first week, we focused on our Leader in Me lessons to set up our classroom environment. This program helps students develop important leadership skills, and we’ve already seen great enthusiasm. Each student has received a classroom leadership role for the term, which encourages them to take responsibility and contribute positively to our classroom community. In addition, the students have identified their Personal and Academic WIGs (Wildly Important Goals) that they will focus on throughout the term to help them grow both as learners and individuals.
Creating Our Personal Mission Statements
As part of our leadership work, the students also created their own Personal Mission Statement. This is a meaningful activity where each child reflects on their values, goals, and the kind of person they want to be. We’re excited to see how their mission statements will guide them through the year!
Specialist Programs and Classroom Lessons
This week, students have begun their specialist programs. Next week, we will be diving into some exciting subjects, and we can’t wait to share all the wonderful things your child will learn and achieve.
