đ±Â Welcome Back to School & Sustainability Update đ±
Â
Welcome back to another exciting year at school! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and is feeling refreshed and ready for the year ahead. Weâre proud to share that our school is a 3-Star Resource Smart School, recognising our strong commitment to sustainability across waste, biodiversity and curriculum.
Â
This year, we are working towards achieving our Water and Energy stars, and we look forward to involving students and families in meaningful actions that make a real difference to our school and planet đ
Â
A few friendly reminders:
Â
- đ„Ș Tuesdays are Nude Food Days â please ensure all students bring litter-free lunchboxes.
đ¶ââïžđŽââïžÂ Wednesdays are Active Travel Days â students are encouraged to walk, ride or scoot to school where possible.
Â
We would also like to congratulate our new Sustainability Captains â Max, Charlie and Bonnie! Weâre excited to see the leadership and enthusiasm they bring to our sustainability work this year.
Â
đ Finn Makes Waves on the International Stage! đ
Â
Over the holidays, Finn achieved an incredible result, winning the Clean Up category in the 20th annual BL Blastoff, an international online surfing event hosted by 1988 world champion surfer Barton Lynch.
Â
Finnâs submission highlighted his community efforts, demonstrating how collected bottle tops were recycled into practical products, such as surfboard wax combs and school benches, showing creativity, sustainability, and care for the environment.
Â
Finnâs achievement was also featured on the cover of the Geelong Advertiser and in the Ocean Grove Voice. We are incredibly proud of Finn and his fantastic achievement â congratulations! đ
