Classroom Helpers

Classroom Helpers – Information Sessions
Scoresby Primary School is strongly committed to building positive partnerships between school and home. An important part of many of our programs is the support provided by parents and carers, and classroom teachers greatly value this assistance in helping deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
To support parents who are interested in helping in classrooms, we will be offering a Classroom Helpers information session.
This session will:
Provide an overview of the types of activities parents may assist with in classrooms
Explain procedures and expectations when supporting learning
Share useful questions and prompts that help encourage students and extend their thinking and skills
While attendance is not compulsory for parents who wish to help in classrooms, the session is highly recommended for those who would like some basic strategies and confidence when supporting small groups or individual students, particularly in the early years of schooling.
We will be running the session twice (you only need to attend one):
Friday 27 February | 9:00–10:00am | In person – Staffroom
Thursday 5 March | 7:00–8:00pm | Online session
If you are interested in attending either session, please email your name, and your child's name and class, to nicole.rheumer@education.vic.gov.au
We look forward to working in partnership with our families to support student learning.
Classroom helpers will begin in Week 5. Please contact your child's teacher if you are interested in helping out. If you have any questions regarding Classroom Helpers, please contact me via email or speak to your child's classroom teacher.
