Learning and Teaching

Maths News

Welcome back to another school year sure to be filled with lots of great maths learning!

Teachers have been busy assessing their students in Maths to identify where they are in their learning and to understand their current strategies and misconceptions. This information guides teachers in planning targeted next steps to ensure teaching is responsive and focused on moving each learner forward.

This year, we will continue to include high impact teaching strategies in our Maths lessons to ensure that our students are active participants in the learning process at all times. Regular reviews of maths concepts and skills will also occur daily, so that students have the opportunity to rehearse and retrieve information often and provide opportunities for frequent checks for understanding to ensure that we are targeting their needs.
