Hello Weeden Heights Families.
As a STEAM teacher, I create a learning environment where curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking thrive. I emphasize problem solving as a core skill, encouraging students to ask questions, test ideas, and think across disciplines as they tackle real-world challenges. Just as important, I normalise failure as a powerful part of the learning process—helping students see mistakes not as setbacks, but as opportunities to reflect, revise, and grow. By embracing iteration and resilience, the students build confidence, deepen their understanding, and develop the perseverance they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.
On a personal note, I share my life with my husband, Steve, whose support and encouragement mean the world to me, and our son, Mitchell, who is currently pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot. As a family, we value curiosity, dedication, and the courage to chase big goals—qualities that inspire me both at home and in the classroom. Watching Mitchell work toward a career in aviation reminds me daily of the power of passion and perseverance, and it reinforces why I believe so strongly in helping students learn to trust the process, even when the path includes challenges along the way.

Our family loves traveling around Australia and overseas to experience new cultures, traditions, and ways of life. Exploring local food is our favourite part—it’s how we connect with people and truly understand each place we visit.
Our family also includes Bowie, our 2 year old Sheepadoodle dog who keeps things lively with his energy and loyalty, and our two cats, Isaiah and Winston, balance the house with their own unique charm and independence.

It has been wonderful getting to meet all the students this week. I am looking forward to an amazing year in STEAM and SAKG program.

Volunteers are extremely welcomed and appreciated for the SAKG program which runs Wednesday mornings for 5/6S this term.
