Physical Education (Prep)

This week in PE, we were developing our understanding of rolling in gymnastics. At the start of the lesson, we looked at the definition of what a roll is and watched some videos as examples. We then practiced how to roll in different ways. We performed egg, log, pencil and forward rolls using the blue mats. We even practiced rolling from a platform. Well done to all of our children in PE this week!

Music (Years 1 and 2)

Our Element of Music focus in Year 1 and 2 is “pitch”. Students are developing an understanding of the concept of pitch in music and their skills when singing and playing tuned instruments.

Students have been learning the solfege to help train their voice. They have worked on solfege exercises and learnt solfege versions of short well-known songs. 

On tuned instruments, students have been learning well known song melodies.  This week, students began to write their own melodies using pitch patterns.
