Principal's Message

Welcome to Week 7 – Term 3
Welcome to Week 7 of Term 3! We have another exciting and busy week ahead at LPS, with plenty of opportunities for our students to learn, perform, compete and celebrate together.
🎭 State Schools Spectacular – Thursday to Saturday
This week is a particularly exciting one for LPS as our students and staff take part in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular from Thursday through to Saturday.
We wish all of our students and staff involved in the Spectacular every success as they take to the stage and represent Leongatha Primary School. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to be part of something much bigger, joining around 1,000 students from government schools across Victoria in what promises to be an incredible celebration of student talent, creativity and performance.
I will also be in Melbourne from Thursday to Saturday assisting with the State Schools Spectacular. As many of you know, I have a real passion for the arts and for the incredible opportunities they provide for young people. I am very proud that LPS is able to contribute to such a significant state-wide celebration and to support our students as they experience the excitement, discipline and joy that comes from performing as part of a large ensemble.
🏊 Grade 6 Swimming Program
Our Grade 6 students are also well into their swimming lessons, with the program now in full swing. These sessions provide an important opportunity for students to develop their swimming ability, water confidence and safety skills while also challenging themselves in the pool.
We encourage our Grade 6 students to make the most of every session, support one another and continue building their confidence and skills throughout the program.
📚 Book Week – Friday
Friday morning will begin with one of the highlights of Book Week — our Book Week Parade on the basketball court!
We can't wait to see the creativity of our students and staff as everyone comes together to celebrate books, reading and the wonderful characters and stories that capture our imaginations. Families are warmly invited to join us for the parade and share in the fun.
It is always a wonderful morning at LPS and a great reminder of the important role that reading plays in our students' learning and development.
🏀 District Basketball – Friday
Friday is also a big day for our basketballers, with students representing LPS at the District Basketball competition.
We wish all of our teams the very best as they compete, represent our school and demonstrate the values that we pride ourselves on at LPS — teamwork, persistence, sportsmanship and respect. Most importantly, enjoy the opportunity to play, support your teammates and represent our school with pride.
Good luck to everyone involved!
It promises to be another fantastic week at LPS. We hope everyone has a positive, productive and enjoyable Week 7!
Warm Regards
Warwick
