Principal Message

Dear Families and Community,
Welcome to Term 3!
The term has started with a buzz of energy from the Year 11 Central Australia Tour - the feedback from the tour providers and the venues our students visited was outstanding. Our students immersed themselves in a range of adventures through central Australia, visiting iconic places such as Coober Pedy, Uluru, Mataranka, Kakadu, Litchfield National Park, Darwin Mindil Beach Sunset Market - memories from adventures like this last a lifetime, friendships and learning are intertwined. Our staff arrived home, exhausted, but extremely proud of every student.
Last week our Year 11 students headed off to their formal. Students looked amazing and had a fantastic evening of dancing, fun and crazy awards.
Our Year 12 students are busy completing their pathway interviews with the careers team and I highly encourage all Year 12 students considering a university pathway to ensure that you are visiting the current open days. This is also a great time for Year 11 students to start investigating options and visiting the open days - there is so much on offer for students in higher education, the technology is outstanding and the combination of university degrees, paid work experience and traineeships is evolving every year.
Our Careers team in conjunction with the SAP teachers have prepared Year 9 students through a guided curriculum to consider their Senior Pathway options. Course Counselling for Year 10 selections demonstrated organised and thoughtful responses from students.
Our sports teams are busy representing the college to the highest of standards at many venues - the front administration office see teams of excited students, buzzing with energy file past regularly, heading off for a day to compete against other schools, only to return in the afternoon, still noisy, still excited and asking their coaches about the next adventure.
Behind the scenes our Learning and Teaching team is busy planning our next curriculum day for staff. Staff will be continuing to work on the college Pedagogical Model with a particular focus on the Instructional Model - a model that every teacher will base their planning and execution of every lesson, ensuring that we are using the most up to date research and evidence to provide every student a high level of learning.
Next week the education department will open up the Parent Opinion Survey. I encourage all families to take part in the survey to have a voice on your child's experience and to support the college to use the data to drive the future direction of the school.
Our transition team have been working tirelessly on 2026 Year 7 enrolments, we certainly remain the school of choice for the Langwarrin community and we are excited to welcome our new enrolments.
Whilst we are starting to see the sunshine for longer each day, and a touch of warmth in the afternoon sun, Term 3 can still be a long term for staff and families. I encourage everyone to make sure they take good care of themselves, rest if you have cold or flu symptoms and seek support from the college if you require.
Warm regards,
Jodie Ashby
Acting Principal.
