New - Bingo Help Needed
St Mary's Parish are most grateful the wonderful people who have been able to volunteer their time and for their efforts to help keep our Bingo running.
With this help and Bingo having good numbers most weeks over the past three months, this has resulted in the committee being able to pass on $3000 to both the School and the Parish. These donations have been most appreciated and will be put to good use within the school and the Parish.
For these monetary contributions to continue we are calling out for anyone that has some spare time on a Saturday evening and able to help out for a minimum of between 1 - 4 hours to contact Maree on 0438084364.
New - Bullying No Way Week
Proudly supporting Bullying No Way: National Week of Action -
This year St Mary’s will be participating in the Bullying No Way: National week of action, from 11 to 15 August 2025. Bullying No Way Week is a commitment being made by thousands of schools and supporters across the country. It provides an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to bullying prevention. It gives us an opportunity to connect with students, staff and school communities to implement workable solutions to prevent bullying.
The theme for this year's campaign is:
It takes a community to be brave and address bullying behaviours, within and beyond the school gate. Students can be bold, kind and speak up to support others being bullied. While trusted adults are there to support children and young people learn how to be kind to each other and report bullying.
This Bullying No Way Week, we’re asking you to be bold and say something, be kind and support someone and be proud to speak up against bullying.
For more information about Bullying No Way Week and bullying prevention, visit the Bullying No Way website - https://bullyingnoway.gov.au/

New - Grade 2's enjoy a Wet Weather program
Grade 2s happily playing inside during recess and lunch last week due to the rain. Their faces show how much they enjoyed it!
During maths we have been learning how to add with regrouping.
New - Probability Maths Unit
Fun end of term 2 in 5/6! We finished off our Probability maths unit by playing some chance games that the students created! We also watched our Inquiry movies about the different areas of health, while enjoying some popcorn! And some of the 5/6 boys enjoyed playing footy at lunch time - and even played in their own mini grand final!
A great way to end Term 2
New - Cooking Skills in Action
During last term, our Life Skills Cooking program, led by the wonderful Liz, was in full swing! Using fresh ingredients provided by Foodshare or from shopping excursions, our students have been whipping up some delicious culinary creations – from homemade sausages and roast vegetables to hearty pastas and rich passatas.
Not only are they learning practical cooking skills, but they're also building confidence, teamwork and independence in the kitchen.
A huge thank you to Liz and to Foodshare for supporting this valuable and engaging program.
New - STEM Education Workshops
At the end of last Term, the 5/6 classes were lucky to have Melbourne University visit to present their MISEP (Melbourne Indigenous STEM Education Program) workshops. We learnt about Country, the layers of Country, the different seasons and we also participated in a yarning circle!
