Year 9 and 10

Year 9

Our Year 9 students have had an exciting start to the term with the Naarm Excursion Program in full swing!

So far, students have enjoyed a wide range of experiences designed to boost engagement and enjoyment at school. They’ve tested their ice skating skills at the Icehouse, stepped inside the historic Old Melbourne Gaol where Australia’s most notorious outlaw, Ned Kelly, met his end, and explored the Holocaust Museum - an eye-opening experience that gave them the chance to view historical artefacts and hear personal stories from those impacted. The visit culminated in the rare privilege of meeting Holocaust survivor Dr Henry Ekert, whose account brought history to life in a deeply personal and powerful way.

Students also visited the MCG, an iconic landmark in Australian sporting history, where they explored the sports museum, and even stepped out onto the turf themselves.

A big thank you to the Middle Years team and all the teaching and ES staff who have joined us - without their support the program would not run as well as it does. It has been wonderful to see the excitement and enthusiasm students bring to each new experience.

Still to come are visits to the Melbourne Skydeck, Scienceworks, the Shrine of Remembrance and Werribee Zoo. We’re also looking forward to the grand finale - the Amazing Race - where students will navigate Melbourne's CBD, completing challenges designed to strengthen problem-solving skills, teamwork, and resilience.

We can’t wait to see our Year 9s continue to grow in confidence and independence through these unforgettable experiences.

Year 10

Year 10s have had a busy period focusing on their subject selections and outlining pathway and career choices. Our Year 10s are to be congratulated on their independence in finding crucial information to help make informed decisions. We now move into the period of the year where we finalise our VCE VM application process and interviews. We wish all applicants the best of luck with their applications!

As Term 3 progresses, we encourage our Middle School students to continue showing their strong work ethic and commitment to the College values. The Middle School team prides itself on being a key supporter for students in establishing their future career planning and self-identity. We are always eager to discuss students’ progress with their pathways, and wish students all the best with planning for their selections for 2026.

Warm regards,

Middle School Team
