Principal

 Dr Michael Horne

Again a warm welcome to Term Three, I hope that students have enjoyed the first few days back and are looking forward to the opportunities that will be presented over the coming weeks.

Sanshui Foreign Languages School Visit

This week we welcomed 16 students and two staff from the Sanshui Foreign Languages School who are visiting the College as part of their broader Australian study tour. We welcomed the group in assembly yesterday, with College students Harry Dorahy, Kora Murray, Sofiya Guo and Charlotte Butcher impressing with their Chinese language welcome and reflections. I am grateful to the College students who have looked after the visiting students in class and in the boarding house this week. We look forward to the relationship between our two schools continuing to grow in the future.

2026 Europe Language and Arts Tour Information Session

The itinerary and program for the 2026 Europe Language and Arts Tour has been confirmed. It is open to all students in Years 10 to 12 in 2026, contingent on their academic progress and conduct. The trip will run for 17 days across the last week of Term One and the first week of the April holidays, from Thursday 26 March to Saturday 11 April. The itinerary will be shared in detail next week, but the major destinations are Rome, Florence, Paris and Rouen.

An online information session will be held for current Year 9, 10 and 11 students and parents next Thursday, 31 July at 7:00 pm. The link will be sent separately to relevant year levels early next week, along with a copy of the itinerary.

Both of the items above are examples of the College’s commitment to providing genuine global opportunities for our students. Experiencing and interacting with other cultures helps to sharpen the way we look at our own context, bringing gratitude for those things we do well and value, and bringing new ideas for how we might do some things differently and better.
