Number - This term in Number, students will develop their fractional thinking as they explore the relationship between fractions, decimals, and percentages. They will work with equivalent and improper fractions, compare and order fractions, and learn how to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators. Students will also solve problems involving fractions of a whole, building a deeper understanding of how fractions are used in everyday contexts.
Space - This term in Space, students will investigate a range of geometric concepts and spatial reasoning skills. They will explore tessellations, identify lines of symmetry and rotational symmetry, and learn how to enlarge 2D shapes accurately. Students will also follow directions to translate, rotate, and reflect shapes, and develop their mapping skills by using grid references and coordinates to locate and describe positions.
Statistics - This term in Statistics, students will explore a range of ways to represent and interpret data. They will learn to create and analyse pie charts, understand and calculate mean, median, mode, and range, and interpret information from stem-and-leaf plots. These skills will help students make sense of data, identify trends, and communicate their findings effectively.
