Spanish club Term 3

Monday 3:45 PM All students welcome.

The last activity of the Spanish Club from last term was about Sant Joan night (a magical night) it was about how this special date is celebrated in Barcelona. In the Northen hemisphere the 23rd of June is when summer start.

It is the shortest night of the year and people get together to say welcome to summer. It is celebrated around bonfires, with firecracker, music and dances and specially with the yummy “coca de Sant Joan” which is a traditional sweet pastry from Catalonia.

Nicole and Jaume treated all of us with this special bread. Also, the kids got to prepare and decorate their own cocas.

It was a session as always full of fun, food and laughter where everyone enjoyed and took part in it.

Spanish Club is Back this Monday!

We’re excited to announce that our much-loved Spanish Club will return this term, running every Monday from 3:45 to 4:45 in Rob’s classroom (Year 1/2 Learning World).

Our first session kicks off on Monday, 28th July! We'll be playing bingo and enjoying a fun afternoon filled with games, laughter, and community, students, families, and friends are all welcome to join in!

This is a fantastic opportunity for NPS students to:

  • Practise Spanish in a fun, relaxed setting
  • Connect with students from other year levels
  • Discover traditions from Spanish-speaking countries
  • Enjoy meaningful time with family and friends

The Spanish Club is a space open to the whole school community and not just for the Spanish speaking one.

The activities are usually explained in both languages. These are intended to show a little bit about different traditions and games from the Spanish speaking world in an attempt to interconnect with our Australian community.

It is a great space for carers and parents who are not from Hispanic background to learn some words in Spanish and for those who are learning Spanish in different platforms like Duolingo a very friendly space to practice it.

All NPS students are welcome—come along and be part of the fun!
