Student Voice :                         Heights  Campus

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope that everyone had a restful and fun holiday. We are very excited to kick off this term which will be full of lots of fun, learning and new achievements.

The SLC finished their Winter Sports last term and a couple of our teams made it into the finals! Both Netball Mixed and Sofcrosse will be playing in Week 3 against schools that came in first from other districts in the SSV Division Finals. We are all very proud of their hard work and resilience during the season.

This week, the SLC students are starting Summer Sports which includes Basketball, Volleystars, Hotshots and Softball. Their first game is in Term 3 Week 3 and they all are very excited. As an SLC group we have set a new goal for our Summer Sports season. It is to continue to show good sportsmanship when we are playing against different schools because it doesn't matter if we win or lose. As long as we work as a team, we will always achieve our very best!

The garden program will soon be preparing itself for Spring! Our Environmental Science teacher, Mrs McMahon, is excited to plant spring vegetables and herbs with all the grades once the weather begins to warm up. We are all ready to become green thumbs!

All students at Springvale Rise Primary School have the opportunity to take part in swimming in Term 3. Swimming is a very important skill for life and we are looking forward to getting back into the pool! Hopefully we will all know how to swim by the end of these lessons and have an amazing fun day on the last lesson!

On August 19th, students from Heights Campus will be celebrating Book Week with our fantastic Book Week Parade! The theme this year is ‘Book an Adventure!’ We are so excited to see what the teachers and students will be dressed up as this year.

The Foundation students have also nearly reached 100 days of school. What an incredible milestone it will be! They will be celebrating this achievement in Week 4 with their parents as well as teachers with different activities.

Different learning centres have been busy with preparing their doors for our Deadly Door Competition as part of NAIDOC Week celebration. It has been great to see every class trying their best to win and using collaboration to make the path to success. Who will win, you may be asking? Well, we don’t know yet as the doors will be judged at the end of this week, but we still love every door as they all look stunning.
