Year 3/4s visit to the South Australian Museum
In the final week of Term 2, our Year 3/4 classes enjoyed an exciting and educational excursion to the South Australian Museum. This special outing was a fantastic way to wrap up the term, with students eagerly exploring the many fascinating exhibits on display.
Highlights of the day included the colourful mineral collection, the enormous Giant Squid, the ancient Egyptian Mummy, and the much-loved pelican “Mr Percival.”
Mr Percival is a key character in Storm Boy, our class novel for Term 2, which is set in the Coorong region of South Australia. Seeing a life-sized pelican on display gave students a unique and meaningful connection to the story they had been reading in class. It was a powerful way to bring the novel to life and deepen their appreciation for the local setting it describes.
The excursion provided valuable opportunities for inquiry, discussion, and hands-on learning. Students were enthusiastic, curious, and respectful throughout the visit, a wonderful reflection of their growth and engagement this term.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible parent helpers who generously gave their time to support the day. Your help in guiding small groups through the Museum was greatly appreciated and made the excursion smooth and enjoyable for all.

OSHC Highlight
At OSHC, our baking activities are a perfect opportunity to encourage healthy eating. This fortnight, we made sugar-free cupcakes, and children learnt about measuring, pouring, and combining ingredients. Some even learnt how to crack eggs for the first time!

100 Days of School for Foundation Students
This week our Foundation students marked a HUGE milestone - 100 days of school! 🎒🏫
To celebrate, Mrs Were and Miss Herrmann created a fun day of activities. From making 100 dot paintings, crowns, colouring in, and hand grown flower crafts - the students enjoy celebrating creatively.
Congratulations to our wonderful Foundation students and everything you've learnt so far!
Lego Technic and Robotics in Extended Learning
Over Term 2 and 3 Extended Learning ran a number of activities, competitions and events with Lego Robotics.
Students created, coded and designed various Robots across Years 4 to 8. We’ve learned different drive techniques, concurrent motor control, good engineering principles, among others.
Students in Year 4 recently submitted their entries to Spike Challenge, sponsored by MTA. Years 5-7 students have done various internal challenges, getting ready for the First Lego League later this year.
