By Osian Fletcher

Hi I’m Osian. I'm here to tell you about Cross Country, 9 people went to Divisional Cross Country on the 3rd of June. Those people were me (Osian Fletcher), Mackenzie Dunlop, Michael Marrama, Leo Chandrasegaram, Gabe Tham, Harriet Maher, Rhys Davies, Lulu Ryan and Maddie Tole. Can all those people I just said please stand up.I would like to shout out to Mackie for coming 3rd and moving on to regional but sadly he is in Italy so can’t make it. Everyone else did really well.

 Melbourne City Football Club Incursion

We were delighted to welcome Abby and James from Melbourne City Football Club to BSPS for an exciting soccer incursion with our Grade 5/6 students. The day began with a fun and engaging clinic for the girls, followed by a session for the boys, with a focus on developing key skills such as dribbling, ball control, and working as a team.

The sessions ended with friendly mini-games that encouraged teamwork, communication, and a strong sense of team spirit. A few students were even recognised for their positive attitude and collaboration on the field, taking home some fantastic Melbourne City FC merchandise!

A big thank you to Melbourne City FC for providing such a meaningful and enjoyable experience - one that truly inspired our students and celebrated the power of teamwork!

Footy Fanatics!

Students in Grades 3-6 recently participated in a four-week AFL program during P.E., offering a fantastic opportunity to develop and refine fundamental skills such as kicking, handballing, marking, and teamwork.

Throughout the program, students steadily built their confidence while applying these skills in game-like scenarios. The sessions were not only active and engaging but also fostered a deeper understanding of the sport in a supportive and fun environment.

Well done to all the students for their enthusiasm and teamwork!

P.E - Foundation

Our amazing Foundation students had a fantastic Term 2 in P.E. and truly proved themselves to be PE superstars! They enthusiastically engaged in a wide variety of stations designed to develop their fundamental movement skills, locomotive and ball skills.

Each week, the students rotated through different stations, giving them the chance to build a broad range of skills in fun and challenging ways. They followed routines and class structures beautifully, demonstrated teamwork and cooperation both in small groups and as a whole class, and showed great respect for the equipment - always making sure everything was packed away properly after each session.

A huge congratulations to our Foundation students for their amazing effort, responsibility, and energy throughout the term!

1/2 Super Skills in PE

Students in Grades 1/2 have been busy in P.E. this term, participating in a range of activities designed to build and refine their fundamental movement skills and coordination. A key focus was on locomotor skills, alongside ball control activities inspired by soccer- like the popular “squash the tomato” technique.

Students followed routines beautifully, worked cooperatively with partners and in small groups, and consistently showed respect for the space and the equipment. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they learned through play, worked as part of a team, and had lots of fun along the way!
