🎨Year 12 Art Camp

Last Friday, the Year 12 Visual Art class headed to their art camp down in Fremantle. Miss McKechnie, Mrs Giannopoulos and Mr Logan started the weekend off by taking the students to Boola Bardip Museum for inspiration, Kings Park for landscape studies, and then Coogee Beach Resort, where they made initial sketches. They ended the day with celebrating Miss McKechnie's birthday with fish & chips and of course cake!

Over the following days the students spent their time touring around Fremantle where they explored urban art with ‘Oh Hey WA’, photographed the iconic Fremantle streets, learned about maritime history at the Shipwreck Museum, visited the Fremantle Arts Centre and Round House for workshops and cultural exploration and engaged in drawing sessions at Esplanade Park.

Back at the Coogee Beach Resort, the Year 12s participated in nighttime drawing activities and games of large scale Pictionary. The trip concluded with a relaxing swim at Cottesloe Beach before returning to school.

Overall, the trip was a success - the experience blended natural beauty, cultural immersion and creative expression that left a lasting impact on the students' artistic development.
