College Captains' Report
What a wonderful start to the school year we have had! This term has been jam-packed with a lot of activities for students to participate in, including camps, sports events, clubs and so much more.
The annual swimming carnival was a great hit this year. The tradition of Year 12s dressing up was very fun to see, with the theme of duos and trios shining, such as Sportacus and Stephanie from Lazy Town, and Gru and Vector from Despicable Me!
It was amazing to see so many people participate in races and fill the gaps to the best of their abilities, whether they were already on the program or filling in spots for House points. After combining both the Kildare and Brigidine campus points, Delany landed on top, closely followed by Moore. Will Delany be able to keep their spot on the ladder? Or will another House climb its way up to the top? That’s for you to decide!
The Year 12 study space has been full of action throughout this whole term, with many people working tirelessly to keep up to date with their subjects and prepare for their upcoming SACs. It is also a great place for us to simply hang out at recess and lunch, unwinding our brains with a nice Milo, tea or coffee before heading off to our next class. Our cohort is immensely grateful for this beautiful space to work comfortably in.
As the term comes to an end, we hope everyone takes the time to relax and give yourselves a well-deserved break, so that you can all have a fresh start to the new term.

Two weeks ago, our Year 12 cohort had the privilege of attending a retreat away from the school environment in Harrietville. One of the most significant aspects of the retreat was the opportunity it afforded us to connect with our peers and reflect on our personal journeys. Through fun activities and in-depth discussions with our teachers and peers, we were able to delve into topics such as how we can reflect and celebrate our individual identities, gifts and talents, and where we can find time for rest and things that we enjoy. Retreat was a really fun experience that allowed us to connect with ourselves and our peers in order for all of us to get the most out of the challenging year ahead. We would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to all of the teachers who accompanied us on our retreat and made our experience the best it could be, while also helping us to discover more about ourselves and our faith.
Recently, our student leaders participated in a social justice event where they sported red painted crosses over their mouths and remained silent for the day as a way of empathising with the struggles faced by those who are marginalised in our society. By wearing the symbol of the cross, we aimed to spark conversations relating to social justice, inclusivity and the daily struggles of those who do not have a voice in our community.
