Living with Strength and Kindliness

As we find ourselves amidst the season of Lent, a time of reflection and renewal, it's fitting to ponder the significance of rituals within our school environment. Rituals play a role in shaping our identity as a multi campus learning community.

Last week we held our first whole school assembly. This assembly, beautifully led by our Brigidine student leaders, was again another wonderful opportunity to celebrate and bring alive our motto of strength and kindliness. Through prayer, reflection, and celebration of a myriad of student achievement and growth we set the tone for the year ahead, united in our commitment to excellence and spiritual growth.

As we delve deeper into the season of Lent, we are reminded of the power of ritual in our spiritual lives. Just as we engage in rituals such as prayer, and almsgiving during Lent, so too do we participate in rituals within our school community that nourish us.

This Lenten season we are invited to embrace the rituals that bring us closer together as a school community. Guided by our theme of Hope and in partnership with our Living Justice Living Peace Charter, this year we have begun to embrace opportunities for our students' voices, and reflections from staff to be animated in new and contemporary ways. Pope Francis has dedicated this year to prayer - encouraging us to be open to encounter hope. In support of this, some of our student leaders have this week attended an ethical leadership conference to support them as they engage in leading with purpose.

In support of creating a sense of hope for others, the St Joseph's ommunity is once again supporting the Project Compassion Lenten Program. Students and staff have been spending time learning about the work of Caritas and how we can all be empowered to bring about lasting change and hope to all those in need.
