Library News
The libraries at both Kildare and Brigidine campus have been in full swing with lots of classes, activities, study and assessments.
The students have been busy preparing for NAPLAN next week and completing their interim assessment tasks. In reading room, the students have been undertaking the termly Renaissance Star Reading Test. This test allows students and teachers to identify reading levels and capabilities, as well as respond to academic growth.
Leap Year Display
In the Kildare Library, we have set up a nice display showcasing a special moment in time only experienced every four years - February 29 - Leap Day!
Check out the display with books relating to space and time, and learn more about the Earth rotational cycles. You’ll be sure to be impressed!
Recommendation of the Week
As mentioned in previous communications, here at St Joseph’s, we value and encourage ALL book recommendations. We have developed a new program called ‘Recommendation of the Week’ where we will put a display out showcasing a carefully chosen book as our ‘Recommendation’.
This week, our RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK is a fantastic novel by Kerry Drewery titled The Last Paper Crane.
“The haunting story of a promise made long ago ... a powerful novel set in contemporary Japan and also in 1945, Hiroshima, the day the nuclear bomb was so devastatingly dropped on the city”.
Easter Colouring Competition
Who doesn’t love a good colouring competition? At Kildare Campus, we are encouraging all students to get involved in our Easter Colouring Competition! Ask our friendly librarians for a colouring sheet, and place your named entry into the entry box when complete!
