AFL Analytics Team Visit

AFL Analytics Team Inspires Woodlands Primary!

Woodlands Primary's Year 6 students were recently treated to an exciting session with the AFL's Data Analytics team. Elisa Koch, the team's leader, Nina Morrison, an AFLW player with a passion for data, and Lauren Boothby, a Senior Data Analyst, provided an engaging look into how data analytics is revolutionizing AFL.

The experts showcased the importance of data in improving player performance, game strategies, and fan engagement, linking directly to what students learn in Digital Technologies. The interactive Q&A allowed eager students to explore the practical applications of their classroom knowledge in the sports world.

Special thanks to Stephanie Pearce, the AFL's Schools Curriculum Specialist, for supporting this valuable educational encounter. The session not only broadened our students' understanding of data analytics but also highlighted the growing relevance of digital skills across various fields, including sports.

This visit was a fantastic blend of learning and inspiration, emphasizing the importance of digital literacy in today's tech-driven landscape. We're grateful to the AFL team for sharing their expertise and enthusiasm with our future digital pioneers.
