It is very hard to believe that we are almost at the end of Term 1, already. With only 3 weeks to go, we still have a number of events planned for our students and community, including this Thursday's House Athletics Sports. Please see XUNO News for information around this event. If there are any parents who are able to assist, please let Miss Feely know.
Tonight, we will be having our School Council AGM. I thank the parents who have nominated as your current members and would like to encourage more parents to join. We are still looking for 3 more members to be on school council. If you are interested, or want to know more, please come in and see me.
Parent Teacher Interviews have now been set up for end of term. This is a great opportunity to touch base with your child's teacher to see how they have settled in and discuss future goals. To book a time, please log into your XUNO account and. in the Parent Teacher Interview section, you will be able to select your child's teacher and time. If you are unable to make these interviews and would still like to meet with the teacher, please contact them directly to arrange a time that best suits.
Last week, all students should have bought home information about our End-of-Term Colour Fun Run. This is a wonderful way to end the term, and it is something all our students enjoy. Students have the opportunity to raise funds for the school and win prizes along the way. All money raised will be going towards upgrades to our student resources and some larger art projects that we have planned for the students.
Last week, some of our students were lucky to watch a mummy blue tongue having her baby blue tongues. We called in the snake catcher to check the area was safe to keep them and he agreed. Students have been kept away from this area, just whilst they start to grow,
Lastly, Year 3 and 5 NAPLAN assessments commence this week, and runs over the next 2 weeks. NAPLAN is an Australian Wide Assessment of students Literacy and Numeracy skills. As a school, we get reports on what each student has been able to achieve and also some suggested learning that is still required. This assessment is used, in conjunction with our own in class assessments and observations, to ensure we are catering for all students learning needs. We try hard not to put pressure on our students during this time and let them know that these assessments are about doing their personal best, not being the best.
Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and see you all at Thursday's Athletics Sports.
