Music Tour to Perth

Paula Grinbergs

On Sunday 18th February to Friday 23rd February, 22 students from Lilydale Heights College, combined with 21 students from Healesville High school, as well as six staff, went to Perth on a Music Tour.   The tour started off with an unlikely theme of Escape Rooms and staying at the Fremantle Prison. Students took part in workshops with Dr Rob McWilliams and with senior students from John Curtain College of the Arts.  We also had the opportunity to perform at Mt Hawthorn Primary School.  We spent a day out on Rottnest Island having close encounters with quokkas, dolphins, seals and sea lions. While the weather was hot - 44 on one day - we found ways to keep cool, especially at the Perth Esplanade Water Park with a gelato.

“The tour was fun, I enjoyed playing to audiences and working with my peers.”

Lilah, Year 10.

“It was great, I enjoyed playing music with the other schools and exploring interstate.” Darcy, Year 11.
