Peer Support Visit to Year 7 Camp
On Tuesday 13th February, the Year 10 Peer Support classes went to Phillip Island to spend the day with the Year 7 students. When we arrived, we engaged in a range of camp activities with the Year 7’s, which included the flying fox, the giant swing, the swimming pool and more! Later, we went to the beach to eat our lunch and even though it was windy it was still enjoyable. When we went back to camp, us Year 10’s started to set up our games. Most games went smoothly and the Year 7’s were getting involved and having fun with their peers. The Year 7’s did a great job, especially since it was so hot. Overall, it was a very successful day!

A challenge we faced was the heat, which got everyone feeling hot and bothered. To get the Year 7's more engaged, we held a vote so they could decide what activities would be played. This had a pretty positive impact because they seemed happier to participate and contribute their opinions.

It was a lot of fun getting to hang out and do some of the activities with the Year 7's and just have a laugh and get to know them along the way. We also ran the activities we'd planned which turned out to be very challenging due to the weather, but it was still an amazing experience. A huge thank you to Mr Wright, Ms Alderman and Mrs Clarke for helping get us to and from the camp and taking time out of their day, and a massive thank you to Ms Famularo for helping us prepare for the day and organise our trip.
