It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.

CHOIR NOTES
TRAINING CHOIR:
Please note that a Compass Notification about signing up to the Training Choir has been sent home to all Grade 3 students and students in Grade 4 who missed out on getting into the Recital Choir. The Training Choir is a Choir for students who love singing and would like to try singing in a group situation. Rehearsals are on Thursday mornings at 8.00a.m. in the Music Room. The first rehearsal was Thursday 22nd February. Please if you don't wish for your child to attend, please decline the event, otherwise consent/pay via Compass.
I look forward to a wonderful year of singing!

OFFICE NEWS
Parent Helper Induction
Parent inductions are available online via our website: greenhillsps.vic.edu.au, please go to Forms and Notices / Parent Helpers. Here you will find an Induction Video to watch. The following documents will need to be read, signed and returned to the office along with a copy of your Working with Children Check. These pages are also available from the office if you do not have access to a printer.
First Aid Notifications
We have introduced Compass First Aid notifications this week. Families will receive an email detailing that their child has attended First Aid, this will include the time, date and injury type. It will direct you to Compass for further details. Please note that we will always call families if there is an emergency, an injury to the head or if we feel it is necessary.
Attendance
Students must be accounted for every school day. If your child is not present in class and we have no explanation, then an email will automatically be sent to all family members at 10am. If you receive an email, it is important that you explain their absence ASAP. If your child is going to be away for a full day or more, please notify the school by entering the absence on Compass (this can be done in advance, or explained after). You can do this easily in Compass.
If your child is going to be absent for a family holiday or other long period of time, an email should be sent requesting this leave to James Penson prior to the event: james.penson@education.vic.gov.au
Student Arrival/Departure
If you need to collect your child early for an appointment, please come to the office to sign them out. We are unable to have students waiting in the office, so please allow time to sign out and collect from the classroom (the office will advise if they are in a Specialist class). Please collect your child before or after recess and lunch times as they may not hear the announcements during these times.
If your child arrives at school after 9.00am (after the morning bell has finished) you must come to the office with them to be signed in for a late pass. Please do not send students straight to their classroom after 9.00am.
Staff Car Park
The staff car park is not available for parents to drop off and pick up children between the hours of 8am and 4pm (this includes dropping off at Choir rehearsal). Please use the council-provided parking facilities at the front of the school. For the safety of all, please do not walk children through the staff car park.
If you have any questions at any time about the above information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thankyou,
The Office Team.
CANTEEN
Canteen lunch orders are available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They can be ordered via QKR up until 9am on the day or can be via an envelope with the child's name, class, order and money handed in to the office.
There are a variety of items that can be purchased at the canteen window and this now includes Sakata cheese stars at 50c a packet. This item is gluten free.
Moosies are back - $1.50 at the canteen counter.
If you have a child with a food allergy, you are welcome to come to the canteen and check out what there is or if you have a suggestion for the canteen, please let me know.
Helpers Needed
If you have a spare hour on a Wed, Thurs or Fri between 1pm and 2pm, come along and help in the canteen. There is no food preparation involved, it's very simple and the kids love seeing parents there!
You need to have completed the Volunteer Induction, and sign up through CareBookings - www.carebookings.com.au - access code is JGU9L.
Helpers get a canteen voucher for their kids to use for their next lunch order!
From,
Miriam
