Year 7 Camp
We are delighted to share with you the wonderful experiences and achievements of our Year 7 students during their recent camp at Campapse Downs in Kyneton. From Monday 12 February to Wednesday 14 February, our students embarked on an unforgettable journey filled with adventure, challenges, and personal growth.
Throughout the camp, our students had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of exhilarating activities, including abseiling, rock climbing, archery, canoeing, raft building, the 1 km challenge course, initiatives, and trivia. These activities not only provided them with physical challenges but also encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience. Throughout the activities, students provided encouragement and positive support making sure that their peers were included and enjoying the experience.
Our Year 10 Peer Support leaders were on hand to provide invaluable support for the Year 7 students and, with their guidance and encouragement, our Year 7 students were able to push themselves beyond their comfort zones, overcome obstacles, and achieve their goals. The Peer Support leaders, with the support of the Peer Support Teachers, ran highly enjoyable trivia session in the evenings, which had all students actively competing to be crowned trivia champions. The Peer Support leaders played a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere throughout the camp.
Despite facing challenging weather conditions on the second day, our students demonstrated remarkable adaptability and resilience. They remained enthusiastic and well-behaved throughout the camp, showing great determination and perseverance in the face of adversity.
We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our Year 7 students for their achievements during the camp. Their willingness to embrace new challenges, work together as a team, and support one another exemplifies the values of our school community.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and volunteers who helped make this camp possible, as well as to Campapse Downs for providing us with such a fantastic venue for our outdoor education program.
We hope that the memories and experiences gained during this camp will stay with our students for years to come, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow and thrive in the future. Now, you don't have to just take my word for it. Below we have some quotes from students speaking about their experience on camp.
