SRC Captains

Meet the SRC Captains

Hello! We are your 2024 SRC Captains, Sophie and Rhys!

So… you may be wondering what an SRC Captain is. Well, SRC stands for Student Representative Council. As SRC Captain we help make decisions about upcoming events, spread information and reminders about the events, create posters for those events, lead SRC meetings, announce events at assembly, fill in for absent School Captains, collect school mail, help younger SRCs to understand what is happening and know how to retell the information to their class, we also help Mrs Carman prepare for meetings and events.

In Week 3, Years 5 and 6 went on an excursion to the Malvern Town Hall. We had a personal tour and then had a talk from the Mayor about the three levels of government (specifically local government). At the end, we had a Q&A with the Mayor. It was so fun and we learned a lot about the local government and which levels of government are in control of certain things.

During Lent, we have been learning about Project Compassion, which is run by Caritas Australia. Little cardboard money boxes have been sent home, these are to be filled with some money that goes towards helping people in areas who are less fortunate than us. Even a small donation can make a big difference!
