CURRENTLY IN YEAR 11 ART CREATIVE PRACTICE...

In Year 11 Art Creative Practice, we have currently been experimenting with the print-making technique of Etching. Etching is an intaglio print-making technique where lines, images and details are incised/scratched into a hard surface such as an acetate sheet or metal plate. 

We started off this task using a needle tool to scratch and etch onto a sheet of acetate to help us get used to the techniques and patience needed to produce an Etching. At the same time, we have been updating our visual diaries regularly, filling them with research images, brainstorms, drawings, designs and annotations which all relate to a guiding artist of inspiration. 

This task not only reflects the creative ability of McKinnon Art Students, but shows the adaptability of students to explore new areas and techniques in the broad aspects of art.
