BUSY BEGINNINGS

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back for 2024 and a special welcome to new students including our Year 7s.

In the short time we have been back at school the library staff have been super busy. In the first three weeks of school returning, we have issued more than 1000 loans, we’ve had almost 300 reservations and almost 30 classes visit the library.

We also have new books arriving to keep up with student interests and suggestions.

It’s been lovely to see all the new faces in the library.

VICTORIAN PREMIER’S LITERARY AWARDS 2024

The winners of the 2024 Victorian Premiers’ Literary Awards were announced on Friday 2 February. In the category of Writing for Young Adults the winner was A Hunger of Thorns by Lili Wilkinson. Award judges described A Hunger of Thorns as ‘visually resplendent”.

Maude is the daughter of witches. She spent her childhood running wild with her best friend, Odette, weaving stories of girls who slayed dragons and saved princes. Then Maude grew up and lost her magic – and her best friend. Storytelling is her only gift that remains.
