Here are some ideas to help manage your time for effective study, completing homework or schoolwork, and leaving enough time for everything else.
1. Have a look at your planners.
Planners are an excellent tool to manage your workload and to plan for your assignments ahead of time. In the planners write down what assignment is due and when. Even use different colours for each subject to help remind your mind about due dates. A hard copy plan can be a quick, easily accessible reminder of your priorities for the day, and way to see what is coming up soon.
Please see either Pip or Rhona if you’d like a yearly planner on A3 or A4 to help plan your year more effectively.
2. Apps and Programs.
There are some great apps or planning tools available online for free to assist with setting priorities and managing time.
3. Break each task up into parts.
Break your tasks up into smaller parts, and achieve the assignment or homework task one bit at a time.
4. Get started.
The important thing is to get started. Your first draft won’t be perfect; the first step is about building an initial scaffold to grow and build your ideas. The more drafts you do, the more polished your work will become.
5. Try other strategies.
Effective study and time management isn’t about using one way to do something, it’s about using a variety of tools to get the job done,
