Principal's Report

Simone Roy

Camp

I was lucky enough to spend some time with the Year 9s this week while on their Future Makers onsite experience. Thinking back, I also spent time on camp with this group when they were Year 7s. It was nice to see how much they've grown in two years, and continue to build my connection with these students. There was a lot of energy in the group and high spirits!

The Year 7s and 9s came together at free time and dinner time and were starting to mix together a bit, which was an additional benefit that we had hoped would develop with the groups being on camp at the same time.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Years 7 and 9 students is held in March each year. This year, the NAPLAN test window is between Wednesday 11th March and Monday 23rd March. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. The results of the tests provide information for students, parents and schools and can be used to improve student growth. NAPLAN tests are delivered online.

All eligible students are expected to participate in the NAPLAN tests and catch up testing times will be available for absent students. NAPLAN helps demonstrate progress and growth in learning over time, so all we ask is for all students to give each test a go and try their best!

School Council

At the time of publishing, the self-nomination period has not closed, and we are still looking for one more parent to self-nominate. If we don't receive enough nominations, the due date will be extended into next week.

Thank you to all those that have self-nominated for the vacant positions on School Council.

Toilet Works Update

The facilities are getting closer to being finished, but as yet, I have still not been given a final date for completion. With the state of progress, I would be hoping that we are given the go ahead sometime next week.
