French reading competition : 'Lève ta Voix'
This year again, CPS is invited to enter the 'Lève Ta Voix' competition organised by the AAFEBS. To participate, students are expected to read aloud (or recite) a French text of their choice chosen in the francophone litterature. Teachers can guide them in their choice.
In 2025, for our very first participation, we had some Year 1, Year 3 and Year 4 students who bravely voluntered to have a go and represent our school. Their French teachers organised a mini panel to select finalists among their students. These finalists then competed in the online Finale against other students from other bilingual French/English schools in Australia.
This year, we would like to extend the participation of our school in this event which is a wonderful opportunity to motivate our little readers! We warmly encourage whole classes to enter the competition by practising reading their chosen text and organising their class competition to determine who will represent CPS in the AAFEBS Finale in the different categories.

Catégorie 2: CP --> Year 1

Literacy Intervention and EAL
Years F-3 All Teachers
Can you please check The Literacy Intervention and EAL timetable to see when I will be taking your students this term.
This year I am working on quick goals hopefully being achieved through increased sessions in a week and progress monitoring to reassess groupings. This means it will be flexible with students moving in and out. These groups so far are based on EOY DIBELS data and will be updated at the end of the term with the new 2026 data.
Please be aware that sometimes I am pulled to other duties, and I apologise if I miss a session with your student.
The timetable is found in the first tab. On the next few tabs are the groups with information on their intervention goals and my lessons and notes. Some have already started.
Years 1-6 English Teachers
In order to make my groups, I looked at the data from EOY DIBELS 2025. I made this document 2026 Master Literacy Intervention where I put students from each grade who were AT RISK or SOME RISK.
Please have a look at which students are needing support and think about what can be provided in class for them. If you would like help discussing some ideas, I am very happy to come chat to you and your team.
Nicole
