Thank You! - RSC Encouragement and Open Long Course Meet

Wow — what an absolutely incredible day Sunday was!
From the very first car unloaded at 7am to the final pack-up, the energy, teamwork and community spirit on display was something really special. RSC truly is something special because of each and every one of you!
To our 7am set-up crew — you are superstars! Thank you for starting your Sunday bright and early to transform the space and have everything ready to go. And to the parents who saw we needed extra hands and immediately stepped in — that generosity and willingness to help is what makes our club so strong. It truly takes a village, and we are so lucky to have ours.
To the swimmers who came down early to help — thank you! The way you ran the BBQ, raffle table and ribbons table with such maturity and professionalism was outstanding. You should be so proud of how you represented RSC.
To those working behind the scenes in the weeks leading up — collecting raffle prizes and lucky envelope donations — we are so grateful. Our fundraising success is only possible because of your quiet, consistent efforts.
And speaking of fundraising — what an amazing result! We raised an incredible $2,457 for the club through our fundraising efforts. That is a phenomenal achievement and a direct reflection of the generosity, teamwork and support within our community. Every raffle ticket sold, every sausage flipped, every lucky envelope purchased made a difference — thank you!
It’s no surprise that other clubs love coming to our meets. They know they’ll experience a professionally run event, a welcoming atmosphere, plenty of fun, and incredible prizes up for grabs through our fundraising and BBQ. That reputation doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built on the effort, pride and passion of our community.
To our amazing marshalling and check-starting team — WOW! Over 20,000 steps in the morning session alone, managing 350 swimmers with calmness, enthusiasm and encouragement. For so many first-time swimmers, you created a welcoming and reassuring environment that helped settle nerves and build confidence. That impact is enormous.
To our timekeepers — thank you for your focus and precision. When swimmers are chasing PBs and 0.01 of a second matters, your role is absolutely vital. We appreciate your concentration and commitment.
To the BBQ legends — 400 sausages and 60 bacon & egg rolls, sold out by 1:30pm! What an effort! You handled the rush with smiles, teamwork and serious efficiency. Incredible work.
To our control room team — Miek on Meet Manager and Jon on announcements — you delivered such a smooth, professional meet. Everything ran seamlessly and the communication throughout the day was fantastic.
To our catering crew, runners, chief timekeepers, team managers, and every other volunteer — thank you for the countless jobs (big and small) that kept everything moving and on schedule.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful officials for giving up your Sunday to support our swimmers. We truly value your time, knowledge and dedication to the sport.
And a very special thank you to the volunteers who spent all day helping, or who don’t even have swimmers at the club. The fact that you chose to spend your day with us and selflessly give your time to help our club is incredibly generous. Your support means more than you know, and we are so grateful you are part of our RSC family.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers! Our juniors in the morning Encouragement Meet gave it their absolute all and swam beautifully. A big thank you to Coaches Ava and Matt for guiding and supporting them with such care and enthusiasm.
We also saw history made — with at least five swimmers breaking club records! What an extraordinary achievement. Club records don’t fall easily — they represent hard work and commitment — and to see multiple records rewritten in one afternoon is a testament to the dedication, resilience and belief within the squads. We could not be prouder. Keep an eye on the club socials for a celebration of these club records in the coming weeks.
To our senior swimmers — what a phenomenal effort, especially those taking on the 400m freestyle for the first time. The resilience, determination and pride you showed was inspiring. You are building something special through your hard work and commitment.
And to Coaches Carlos, Ava, Lucy and Matt — thank you for your incredible leadership and energy throughout the day. Taking splits, timing every swim, providing feedback and lifting the atmosphere on pool deck — you truly embody what our club stands for.
What a day. What a team. What a community.💙🏊♀️
Thanks,
Jackie (on behalf of the RSC Committee)
