Term 1 Week 4 Year 2 Newsletter
Dear Year 2 parents & guardians,
Welcome to Week 4! It’s been a smooth start to the 2026 school year and we are loving getting to know our new classes.
What we’ve been up to in Year 2:
- Students are settling into their new rooms and classroom routines really well
- Getting to know about each other through games and activities
- Recapping on the ENPS C.A.R.E values and what these look and feel like
- Discussing the ‘group plan’ and practising following this
- Revisiting the Zones of Regulation
- Revising our Stage 7 Little Learners phonemes (sounds - oral) and graphemes (letters that represent the sounds - written)
- Looking at Place Value in maths
- Discussing what family life looks like in our homes
Reminders:
- Bundoora Farm excursion, Wednesday 11th March: please see Compass for details, permission and payment (NOTE: parents helpers will be needed for this. An email will be sent in coming weeks with information about this)
- Hats: Term 1 is a hat term, so please check your child has their hat at school
- Library bags: check your child’s Library day and that they have a library bag to borrow books
- Art smocks: all children need an art smock for lessons

- Monday 9th March – Labour Day
- Wednesday 11th March- Year 2 Bundoora Farm Excursion
- Friday 21st March – Harmony Day
- Thursday 2nd April – Last day, 2:30pm dismissal
