LITERACY

Our phonics focus this week has been revision looking at all the sounds we have learnt and looking back over the rules of the sound. Students enjoyed making their own Little Learner Love Literacy cards! We are continuing to look at different Fairytales and discussing what we may already know and how they make us feel. Students have been identifying qualities of the characters and their settings. We have been discussing and using new vocabulary in our stories that match with the fairytale.

In writing, we are continuing to build our stamina and writing longer pieces of work. Students have been enjoying completing free writes and writing from a picture prompt. It is a great way for them to use their imagination and develop their story. Students are practising to edit their own work looking editing their capitals, full stops, grammar and spelling.

NUMERACY

In maths we are focusing on shapes and time. For shapes we classified a collection of shapes, compared the different objects that can be built out of the same number of shapes. For time we're looking at duration and investigated durations of time represented in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander seasonal calendars.

INQUIRY

We have continued to look at sound and light making shadow puppets in the sunshine. We have looked at our habits of mind- Remain open to continuous learning. Knowing that learning is always happening and we can learn cross over in our subjects.

Enjoy your week,

Shanae, Michelle, Julieanne and Fiona.
