In Year 1/2 maths we have been learning to gather and organise data, display data in lists, tables and picture graphs and provide reasons when interpreting the results. All students have been creating interesting data collection questions and working hard to produce accurate graphs.
The focus in writing this last fortnight has been to encourage students to make sure their stories make sense. They can still be creative but the story must flow in a logical order. For instance, they have had to consider the time it takes to get to the next scene and how did they get there. It is also unacceptable to use sentences such as they lived happily ever after and must consider a detailed ending rather than an abrupt end to the story.
We have begun to practise our Christmas song for presentation day and so far so good, in fact we may need to cut back on our enthusiasm!
Sport on Fridays - gymnastics, has had some students challenged with their coordination and flexibility while others have been able to show off their skills. We have been very lucky to have an expert come in and share their skills with us.
K/1/2 religion class have been having fun re-telling the story of The Annunciation by creating drama skits. We have also enjoyed the special story time box with Mrs Russell and have had a chance to sing some songs about Mary.
