Another great effort by our Chess Team

Carlton Gardens Primary School proudly achieved 2nd runner-up out of 47 schools at the Interschool Grand Final, where 120 children competed yesterday! The CGPS school team qualified earlier this month after hosting the Junior Primary Qualifiers, where 5 of our players advanced to the Grand Final Every score was hard-earned, as all participants in the Grand Final represented the top 25% of chess players across Victoria. For most of our young chess enthusiasts, this was their first-ever Interschool Grand Final experience. Congratulations to David (Zhang), Hen Shen (Goh), Sree Jagajeeth (Reddy Lebaka), Kaisar, and Aidan (Batyrbekov) on this incredible achievement! This marks a significant milestone in CGPS’s chess journey— in only our first year, we’ve earned two cups and established ourselves as one of the top school chess teams in Victoria!
