Somerville Central Christmas Tree Art Exhibition

Somerville Central Christmas Tree Art Exhibition
Thank you to those who took the time to visit our display at Somerville Central.
Unfortunately, we were not awarded first place. The children's tree was an exceptional piece of artwork and will be returned to the school to be proudly displayed.
MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK
At Baxter Primary School, our community is conscious about our eco footprint. Baxter students have re-used and re-purposed donated wrapping paper to design this Christmas tree. The students wanted to recognise the large amount of plastic and paper waste at this time of the year by demonstrating a creative way to re-purpose materials.
Each student at Baxter Primary School has also traced their own hand on scrap paper saved in the art room and designed a handprint to be included on the tree. Every piece of paper on the Christmas tree has been reused and repurposed! Students designed their handprints to symbolise how we have individual learners at our school, and we are all united and supported in the Baxter Primary School community. This is symbolised through the inclusion of every hand forming the leaves of the tree.
