Wir machen Brezeln!

Our Year 3 classes have been embracing German culture through the exploration of Feste (celebrations), specifically the famous Oktoberfest. As part of this learning, students recently embarked on a fun and engaging activity: Pretzel Making!

While we couldn't indulge in the real deal, we substituted traditional dough with playdough, allowing students to experience the intricate process of shaping a pretzel. Although more challenging than anticipated, our students used PERSISTENCE and PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE and were incredibly proud of their final creations.

Not only was this hands-on activity lots of fun, it was a great way to appreciate one aspect of German culture while also fostering important life skills like patience, focus, and creativity.

CONGRATULATIONS to Clara (and Tegan) who took pride in taking this learning one step further making the real deal at home!  GUT GEMACHT! LECKER!  Check out their photos!

We would love for you to share more stories about how you are exploring German language and culture at home.
