Students have been making a great effort in the playground and their classrooms to keep these areas clean and tidy, and presentable to the many visitors coming to the school more often in these last weeks.
Our Infants classes are really gearing up to present to you their annual Christmas Performance on December 12 at 12:00pm. There is a lot of excitement among the children and it has been lovely to hear the music and see some of the moves!
Nominations were called last week for the 2025 Primary SRC. Year 5 students nominated their peers and from this process, we have seven boys and seven girls who will present a short introductory speech to Years 3-6. Excursion week allowed all Year 5’s to demonstrate their leadership qualities and support their peers and staff.
Nominated students will deliver a brief presentation this Wednesday 4 December, followed by voting. The announcement of our 2025 SRC will take place at the Presentation Day Ceremony on Monday 16 December.

Year 6 Canberra: A Week of Adventure and Learning
On Monday, 25th November, our Year 6 students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Canberra, joined by Mrs Selig, Miss McCosker, Miss Daniels, Miss Hall, Mr Farago, and Mr Borrowdale. The trip was a whirlwind of exciting experiences and incredible learning opportunities. Students delved into Australia’s rich political history at Old Parliament House, participated in a hands-on voting scenario, and even watched question time in action at New Parliament House with Anthony Albanese. A highlight was their engaging discussion with local member Barnaby Joyce, who shared insights into life as a politician.
The adventure didn’t stop there! The group explored the Australian Institute of Sport, channelling their inner athletes, and marvelled at the miniaturised wonders of Cockington Green Gardens. At Questacon, students were thrilled by interactive scientific exhibits, and their visit to the War Memorial offered a heartfelt understanding of the challenges faced by soldiers.
A huge thank you goes to Mr Farago and Mr Borrowdale for their dedication and support throughout this incredible experience. Your generosity in giving your time helped make this trip truly memorable for our Year 6 students.
Year 5 Lake Keepit
Year 5 enjoyed a fabulous 3 days at Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre last week. The students experienced swimming in the lake as well as the centre's 25m pool, Keepit Commando course (mud run), Kayaking, Stand-up Paddle boarding, Slip and Slide, Archery and Archery Tag. At night, there was a games night, as well as Mini Olympics. A whole lot of fun, new and physical challenges were had by all and a wonderful Year 5 excursion completed.
Year 4 Copeton Dam
Year 3 Thalgarrah
On Thursday 28th November our Year 3 students ventured to the Thalgarrah Environmental Centre for a fantastic day of TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) activities!
The day was packed with exciting adventures in the bush, building teamwork skills and creating unforgettable memories with their friends. Orienteering was a standout highlight as students navigated their way through the trails, testing their problem-solving skills and learning to work together. Holding a massive python was another thrilling experience, with many students stepping out of their comfort zones to meet the challenge head-on!
The students embraced every activity with enthusiasm and positivity. The kids had an amazing time making memories that will last a lifetime and we’re so proud of the way they represented themselves, HTS and supported one another throughout the day.
Primary Social
Our final primary social will be held next Thursday 12 December to farewell our year 6 students. Families of year 6 have been invited to enjoy some pizza with their children as they make the move from primary to secondary. Traditionally Year 5 students decorate the hall to give the Year 6's a good send-off!
Entry to the social is $3 per family or $2 for an individual student. The social begins at 5:30 and concludes promptly at 7:00. Please pick up your child from the hall.
Year 6 Mass
Our Year 6 mass will be held on Friday 13 December at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Students from Years 3-6 will attend.
Kind Regards
