2025 Student Leaders

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected as student leaders for 2025:

This dynamic group excelled through the selection process and will do an outstanding job in their positions.

We also commend all 62 students who nominated to contribute towards making our school the very best it can be.  These are impressive young people who are an asset to our school, whether they were selected for a formal role or not.

Japanese Drumming

This week Year 5 and Year 6 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a Taiko drumming workshop, immersing themselves in the rhythm and energy of this traditional Japanese art form. The workshop, led by our Japanese teacher, Megan Corfield, began with a brief history of Taiko drumming, where students learned how the drums have been used for centuries in festivals, rituals, and performances across Japan.

The experience not only helped students develop a greater appreciation for global cultures but also gave them a unique chance to express themselves through the universal language of music.

Prep and Year 1 End of Year Concert

Today we held our Prep and Year 1 end of year concerts as an opportunity for children to show their parents/caregivers the routines they have been learning in Dance lessons this year.  Thank you to Ms McEwan (previous Dance Teacher), Ms Olson (current Dance Teacher), Miss Sophie (Teacher Aide who co-taught with Ms Olson) and the Prep and Year 1 Teaching Teams for preparing students for this event.  Students were fabulous performers and looked wonderful in their costumes.

Tigers' Den Program

Congratulations to our Young Entrepreneurs who have participated in our Tigers’ Den program and will present to a panel of judges tomorrow! ‘Tigers Den’ replicates the hit television show ‘Shark Tank’ with selected students competing to present the best business pitch to a panel of judges aka “Tigers”. Students have participated in a series of before school enrichment sessions, where they learned about designing products and services, marketing, profit and loss calculations and writing a business plan. The program culminates tomorrow with students presenting their business plan to a panel of three judges with the winning team being awarded a prize.

First Nations Art

Thank you to the McGuiness family who have generously given us two pieces of art by Twentieth Century Artists from Arnhem Land as an extended loan.  We are honoured to feature these special pieces of First Nations art in our library where they are available for staff and students to see on a regular basis.
